These trips can be customized to fit just about any angler’s needs. From the seasoned angler wanting to stalk a bonefish on the flats to the guy that has never fished in his life and wants to take the family on a fishing outing. Our boats can accommodate anywhere from one to six anglers to accommodate everyone’s different dreams. While fly gear can be utilized on these trips, the main type of gear that our clients feel comfortable with is light tackle spin fishing and bait casting gear with artificial and live baits.
The Gray Ghost is a species famous in the Florida Keys and found primarily during the summer months. While traditionally the bonefish has been thought of as the Holy Grail of flats fishing, the team at Dream Catcher Charters can show just about anyone how to bring one of these elusive fish to the boat.
Known as the Silver King, these fish require you to bow down to them as they make their aerobatic jumps during their tough fighting matches. Tarpon can be found in Key West year round. With the arrival of the larger migratory species around February, Tarpon season kicks off to a busy start. Baby Tarpon in the summer months may not be as big but they fight just as hard with the vigor of the young.
Sight fishing for the big three (Tarpon, Bonefish, and Permit) requires skill and patience while your guide stealthily brings you to the fish.
What can be more exciting then bringing Jaws to the side of the boat and getting a picture? We have several different types of sharks in the Keys, from the mild Nurse Sharks to the mean Bull Sharks and all the other species in between. We call this our Shallow Water Monsters Trip.
Backcountry Fishing is awesome year round. Some species are stronger than others at different times but all year we find species that will excite you and get you going for a fun day of fishing.
